Programming for Vex IQ!

First! THIS FIRST PART IS DONE INDIVIDUALLY!
Open up ROBOTC (should be on your desktop) and begin with the tutorials for basic code programming

The Wiki can be found by clicked "help" and then "open online help (wiki)
http://help.robotc.net/WebHelpVEX/index.htm

You can find sample programs by clicking "File" and "Open sample program"

You can start with just the robot brain and parts (motors, sensors, etc) tethered to your computer once you have gotten started!
You can make the programs as simple or complicated as you want!
Our goal is to build an autonomous

If it does work we will continue with creation of the Vex Biomimicry below

Biomimicry Robotics assignment

Humans are clever, but without intending to, we have created massive sustainability problems for future generations. Fortunately, solutions to these global challenges are all around us. Biomimicry is an approach to innovation that seeks sustainable solutions to human challenges by emulating nature's time-tested patterns.

We're going to make nature inspired robots!
Design and build a robot that serves a purpose and is inspired in look or design by something in the natural world.

Your robot is not allowed to be controlled with a controller. You must figure out (use the booklet for examples) how to apply sensors or programming to your robot so it does 'something'. Does it only move when the audio sensor hears something. Does it only react to a certain color object passing by it (trapdoor spider leaping out a hole and catching prey)? Will it sit still like a barnacle and just grab things as they pass by or will it pounce?

The choice is yours!

First!
1) Come up with a problem statement
2) Make a quick sketch of how you think you may want to build your robot
3) Have one person in the group become the expert for programming the robot
  • what sensor does what
  • how can you change the programming and how the sensor reacts
4) Build it and present to the class!

You have 5 classes to design and build!

Requirements:
  • minimum 2 sensors that cause a 2 different reactions
  • drawing/research of the animal(s)/nature/etc that you are mimicking
  • a robot that does all of those things!
